What is the Kraken?
The Kraken is one of the official bosses in Atlas, but it has been slightly modified for the Radioactive Server. As the name suggests, it is a large kraken that spawns 8 - 16 tentacles depending on the version.
What distinguishes the different versions of the Kraken?
In short: the level of difficulty. The Kraken V1 is suitable for beginners. The Kraken V3, which is exclusive to the Radioactive Atlas, should only be tackled by experienced players. In addition, there are our Challenge Modes which increase the level of difficulty even further by only allowing certain ships to fight.
Where can I start the boss fight?
The boss fight takes place in our boss grid in G3, which can be reached via a portal in the middle of C3.
What do I need to start the boss fight?
This depends on the version. The following table gives you an overview of the required items.
| Version: | Required items: |
|---|---|

| Kraken V1 Challenge Mode | 3x Pearl of Power, 1x Icy Pearl |

Can I defeat the boss on my own?
If you have to ask here, probably not. For experienced players with the right equipment, it is quite possible to defeat the Kraken V1 and Kraken V2 on their own. However, I haven't yet met anyone who has managed to do this with the V3.
What do I need to defeat the boss?
The following requirements should be met:
- up to 10 powerful battleships that can dish out a lot of damage but can also take it
- Hydra revolver for shooters with sufficient ammunition (optional)
- Buff - Food (pudding, beer, coffee) (optional)
- One shoulder monkey (optional)
- good leather armor
- Medkits
- the ability to use the "Savior" Feat
How does the boss fight work?
First you have to go to G3 and start the boss fight. Pay attention to the maximum number and types of ships allowed. You can find these in the info text of your construction menu. In the V1 example, 10 ships of any type are allowed.

Phase 1:
The Kraken spawns its tentacles and ships (whales in V3). The aim is to destroy all tentacles and sink all ships.
The Kraken also fires glowing orbs at you. If these orbs hit your ships, they cause damage. It is advisable to have players on your ship who shoot these bullets with a hydra turret before they reach the ship.

Phase 2:
As soon as all the tentacles have been destroyed and the ships have sunk, the Kraken lowers its head and it is possible to deal damage to it. To do this, move a ship that can deal a lot of damage to the center of the Kraken and shoot at its head. Note that you should only move towards the center as soon as the whirlpool around the Kraken has disappeared. Hits on the Kraken's jaw do not cause any damage.

After the Kraken has taken enough damage, the head rises and the ship in the middle is thrown out. There is a risk of getting caught in one of the tentacles. In the best case scenario, there is a ship on each arm ready to resolve the situation.
This is then repeated a few times until the boss is finally defeated.
