The Steamship is the Radioactive load donkey. Requires coal or mythical coal (significantly faster) to drive. Requires a special steering wheel, which can be selected via T.
Without a quality engine and without alchemy coal, the steamship is really very slow (around 6 knots). So it's basically worth it if you have to move loads over 100k and / or are prepared to invest accordingly.
