Faction quests (Navy/Pirates)

The Radioactive server offers you the opportunity to take sides in the eternal battle of Navy vs. Pirates.

On C3 you will find representatives of both factions inside the tavern. When you enter, you will see Pirates on the left and Navy on the right. There is an emissary from each faction who will give you quests. The quests are also redeemed with these NPCs.

This uses the same faction system that you already know from sinking the faction ships. As you may have already noticed, you will receive a maximum standing of 500 points by sinking a ship. After that, nothing moves upwards.

This is where the quest system comes in. With quests you can increase your standing up to a total of 1200 points. What's in it for you! The better your standing - the better your CHANCE of getting good loot! But let's be clear: the system rolls dice! Even at maximum value, there is not always the main prize!!!

The maximum chance of getting good loot is 1000 points. You can also build up a "buffer" up to 1200.

But beware: you lose one point of standing for every faction ship you have plumbed.

To receive credit for animals killed during quests, you must dismantle their carcasses with the quest dagger. (see right)

If you have to catch an animal, use the cage marked on the right.

As usual, the quests vary between easy, normal, difficult and very difficult. The quality of the rewards increases with the difficulty level.

Different quests can only be accepted from a certain standing.

Normal quests: 250
Hard Quests: 550
Very Hard Quests: 700

You can check the level of your standing in your inventory. To do this, move the mouse over the letter with the dagger. (See markings on the right.) If this symbol is not displayed, click on the book also marked on the right.

The quest window can be shown and hidden with "O" (like Otto).

Share quests

Quests can be shared! For example, if you receive the quest to kill 3 yetis and you find it a bit too difficult, you can ask any player on the server for help and share the quest. Company, Ally etc. are NOT necessary.

Offer to share with the usual "radial menu" ("E" press), the other accepts as well and bang: both have the "Kill Yeti" quest. However, there is a catch: to prevent it from becoming too easy, the number of targets to be killed increases by a factor of 1.33, in this case from 3 to 4 yetis. Even if it goes without saying: If you want to quest, you have to be friendly! Aggressive chat spam "Search XY for quest" is absolutely forbidden!!! Use the Discord instead, for example.

Each player has 3 regular quest slots and a "bonus slot" for shared quests. More than 4 cannot be open at the same time. So plan carefully!!! The second number from the left tells you how many quest slots you have used up. Of course you can cancel any quest at any time. But BEWARE, canceling has disadvantages.

If you cancel a single-player quest, you will lose a number of faction points. If you cancel shared quests, you will also lose standing, but your fellow players will keep the increased number of quest objectives! In plain language: You team up with a buddy because he needs help with a quest. He shares the quest "Kill 3 Yetis" with you. The number of objectives increases by 1.33 per player, so the number of yetis increases from 3 to 4.

If you then leave the quest, your buddy still has to kill 4. In addition, your place is "burned" for the duration of the quest. If your buddy now invites another player to help, the number of yetis to be killed increases to 5! You can invite a person to each quest a maximum of 3 times. The number of targets increases evenly. 2 people 4 yetis, 3 people 5 yetis etc.

Once the three "invites" have been used up, it is no longer possible to invite further players. If the host leaves, the others do not have to worry. The quest remains with them. Sharing is only possible up to a fulfillment rate of UNDER 50%. In our example, this is explained relatively simply:

1 yeti kill is still okay, if you already have 2 the quest is no longer divisible. The 50% always refers to the current value to be completed. Example: if you have 3 players who have to kill a total of 5 yetis, you can still be invited if you have killed 2 yetis. If you have to kill 8 wolves, for example, the maximum value for sharing is THREE.

Every successful step in the quest (e.g. killing a yeti) gives ALL players involved a yeti for the quest progress. No matter where they are on the RA server. Even if one of them is offline. Both players receive the full loot after redeeming it at the quest NPC. Only traveling to C3 has to be done as usual.
