These ships attack everything and everyone. It is not possible to have a neutral relationship with them. If you get too close to their ships, they will open fire.
All Buccaneer ships are plank ships. This means that they only start to lose hit points when you have damaged or destroyed a plank.
Unarmed and especially slow ships can be quite dangerous at the beginning.
However, armed players should not hesitate to take up the fight.
